Hudson Watch Exchange Limited Warranty
Limited Warranty Term. Hudson Watch Exchange (“HWE”) provides a limited one (1) year warranty on eligible watches sold by HWE to the original purchaser (“you”). The warranty period begins on the date of purchase shown on your invoice and continues for twelve (12) months.
What This Limited Warranty Covers. This limited warranty covers mechanical failure of the watch movement onlyunder normal wear, meaning an internal defect or malfunction of the movement that prevents the watch from operating as intended. At HWE’s option, HWE will: (a) repair the movement, (b) replace the movement with a functionally equivalent movement where applicable, or (c) refund the purchase price upon return of the watch, if repair is not commercially reasonable.
What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover (Exclusions). This limited warranty does not cover and will be void for, any of the following:
Cosmetic condition: scratches, scuffs, dents, chips, cracks, discoloration, patina, bracelet stretch, bezel wear, crystal wear, lume aging, or any normal wear and tear to the case, crystal, bracelet/strap, clasp, crown, pushers, or finishing.
Water resistance / moisture: any water damage, moisture intrusion, condensation, rust/corrosion, or damage related to exposure to water or humidity, regardless of any stated depth rating. Water resistance is not guaranteed on pre-owned watches and should be tested periodically by a qualified watchmaker.
Accidents / misuse: impact, drops, shock, vibration, magnetization, improper handling, abuse, negligence, or use contrary to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Improper operation: damage caused by incorrect setting procedures, manual winding errors, operating pushers/crown at inappropriate times, forcing components, or changing time/date during restricted hours (where applicable).
Non-movement components: battery (for quartz), straps, bracelets, buckles/clasps, crowns, tubes, pushers, crystals, bezels, dials/hands, gaskets, or seals (unless the failure is directly caused solely by a covered movement defect).
Servicing by others / tampering: any watch that has been opened, serviced, modified, polished, repaired, adjusted, or altered by anyone other than HWE or a service provider authorized in writing by HWE, including the installation of aftermarket parts.
Aftermarket or non-original parts: any issues attributable to non-original, replacement, or aftermarket parts (including dials, hands, bezels, crystals, bracelets/straps, or movement components) whether installed before or after the sale, unless expressly disclosed on the invoice as covered.
Inaccurate timekeeping within normal tolerance: regulation/accuracy variances that are within reasonable mechanical tolerance for the model, age, and wear of the watch, or changes caused by environment, position, wear habits, power reserve level, or magnetization.
Loss or theft: loss, theft, or third-party claims.
Serial number alteration: removed, altered, defaced, or unreadable serial numbers.
Eligibility / Original Purchaser Only. This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required.
Warranty Claim Procedure. To request service, you must notify HWE in writing before obtaining any repair. HWE will provide return instructions. You are responsible for secure packaging and insured shipping to HWE (or to HWE’s designated watchmaker if directed). HWE is not responsible for loss or damage in transit. If the issue is confirmed as a covered movement defect, HWE will cover the cost of the covered repair and return shipping to you. If the issue is not covered, you will be responsible for diagnostic, service, parts, and return shipping costs.
No Third-Party Repairs Without Approval. Any repairs, adjustments, or servicing performed without HWE’s prior written authorization will void this limited warranty.
Timing / Turnaround. Mechanical service may require specialized parts and may take time. HWE does not guarantee a specific completion date.
Condition on Receipt. The watch must be returned in substantially the same condition as sold, excluding normal wear, and must include all accessories originally provided (where applicable), unless otherwise approved.
Disclaimer of Other Warranties. This limited warranty is the only warranty provided by HWE. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HWE disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HWE will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost time, lost use, loss of value, or loss of profits. HWE’s total liability under this limited warranty will not exceed the original purchase price paid to HWE.
Governing Law / Venue. This limited warranty is governed by the laws of the State of [New Jersey], without regard to conflict of law principles. Venue for any dispute will be in [Hudson County, New Jersey], unless otherwise required by law.
Manufacturer’s Warranty Supersedes Hudson Watch Exchange Warranty
Certain watches sold by Hudson Watch Exchange may still be covered under the original manufacturer’s warranty at the time of purchase. In such cases, any warranty service, repair, or claim must be handled directly through the manufacturer or an authorized service center designated by the manufacturer. If the remaining manufacturer’s warranty period is less than twelve (12) months from the date of purchase, Hudson Watch Exchange will provide limited movement coverage for the balance of the twelve-month period following expiration of the manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the terms and exclusions of the Hudson Watch Exchange Limited Warranty.
Hudson Watch Exchange does not assume responsibility for, administer, or process claims under any manufacturer’s warranty, and any applicable manufacturer warranty will take precedence over the Hudson Watch Exchange Limited Warranty.
The Hudson Watch Exchange Limited Warranty applies only to watches that are no longer covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty at the time of sale. If a watch is determined to be eligible for service under the manufacturer’s warranty, the purchaser agrees to pursue service directly with the manufacturer or an authorized service provider.
Hudson Watch Exchange makes no representation or guarantee regarding the status, transferability, or enforceability of any manufacturer warranty, as such warranties are issued solely by the manufacturer and are subject to their individual terms, conditions, and policies.
